Hello there,
It has been a long time since our last newsletter. In the intervening months, Useme development has progressed considerably, bringing it very close to beta release.
We have also had a great opportunity to put Useme through the wringer in a high pressure, high demand commercial situation. During the last quarter of 2007, we were tasked with the mission of building a use case model for the requirements of a new social networking website and we were given the brief of producing completely specified, high quality, exhaustive use case documents to be delivered for implementation to an offshore development team of about 25 developers, within an extremely aggressive time scale. Thanks to Useme, we succeeded in fulfilling the task in such a satisfactory way that the company's management decided to continue utilising the process we had put in place in successive development iterations. This real world, highly demanding project was a real litmus test for Useme and we are pleased to say that Useme passed the test with flying colours. It was the one single tool that enabled us to complete our job successfully. We would not have met those impossible deadlines had it not been for Useme.
But let me now come to the main reason for this newsletter. Etish is going to be at EclipseCon 2008 in Santa Clara this coming March and we are going to be presenting a poster that will introduce Useme to the worldwide Eclipse community. It is going to be a very exciting opportunity for us; being able to show Useme off in person will be invaluable to us. So, if you are planning to be at the conference and wish to get together with us to discuss Useme over a tipple or to arrange a demo, do not hesitate to get in touch with us and we will be more than happy to organise something for you. In the meantime, please go ahead and take a look at our presentation's page on the conference website.
You might also be interested to know that Etish Limited is now a full-fledged member of the Eclipse Foundation. We take this opportunity to thank the Foundation folks for accepting us into the fold and we are looking forward to a long and fruitful collaboration with the Foundation's family in particular and with the Eclipse community in general.
As I mentioned, Useme is now pretty close to its beta release. In the next newsletter (which will not be as late as this one in coming, that's a promise!... :-) we will be providing you with a clear and final release date. So thank you for your continued patience and stay tuned!...
Any questions or communication regarding either Useme or the open source project should be emailed to useme@etish.org.
So long,
Barbara
